BLACKLITE STUDIO POLICIES

BlackLite Productions works with many artists, and runs a very tight schedule of operation. While we try to be as accommodating as possible, we must also employ a variety of policies to ensure fairness to both the artists and our employees.

Session Deposit & Cancellation

A 50% deposit is required to book each session. If you must cancel your session, you are required to inform BlackLite Productions via text or phone call (513.515.4459) more than 24 hours before your session starting time, at which time the deposit will be applied to your next session or refunded. If you cancel your session with less than 24 hours notice before your session starting time, or no-show to your session, your deposit will be forfeited.

Starting Time

The session will begin at your scheduled starting time regardless of what time you arrive. An exception would be in the case that another session is ending before yours, and time is overlapping a bit. In this case, your session will be extended for whatever amount of time it started late (for example, if we pushed your 1-5pm session time back to 1:10pm, your session would go until 5:10pm).

Payment

Your full remaining payment is required upon completion of each session.

Masters

Your session must be paid in full prior to receiving your master(s) from the session. Masters are generally provided via email, online file sharing service, or hard drive / flash drive .

Additional Billable Items

When the engineer is working on your project, that time is considered part of your “session time.” This includes when you are present in the studio with the engineer, but it may also include other times when the engineer is working on your project outside of your scheduled session, as you will discuss beforehand. After sessions we do not charge for one round of quick minor/simple revisions communicated by the artist via email/text/phone/etc within reason (such as adjusting the vocal volume, removing a specific ad lib, etc). Billable items may include more elaborate revisions (i.e. creating a new effect for the vocal sound, adding a new bassline to the instrumental, dozens of detailed revisions, etc.) as well as creating live performance mixes, exporting trackouts or stem files, file uploads/transfers, etc. This additional work outside of the scheduled session will be charged at the engineer’s hourly rate (for example, if the rate is $80 per hour and a live performance mix takes 15 minutes to create, it would cost $20 for the time).

Preparing/Transferring Your Files Before Session

We ask that you send your files at least 72 hours prior to blacklitepro@gmail.com (you also have the option to drop your physical hard drive or flash drive off at the studio) prior to your session to ensure everything is downloaded and transferred properly beforehand, and ready to go for your session. This also allows your engineer to let you know if there are any foreseeable issues with your files beforehand, so you can fix them and resend the corrected files before your session. File transfers during sessions will be considered part of your session time.

If you have questions about any of the above policies please text or call 513-515-4459, or email info@blackliteproductions.com before your session to further discuss for clarification.

Thank you and we look forward to working with you!
